The first-ever Indigenous Media Zone at UNHQ aims to provide a space for indigenous and mainstream media to cover the 16th Session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) through
their own media channels, languages and perspectives.
The programme in the Indigenous Media Zone will include:
? Live interviews, press conferences and discussions with indigenous experts, human rights defenders and other participants.
? Workspace for indigenous media, including live stream of official UNPFII sessions. Space to interact with speakers and conduct interviews.
? Social Media: blogging and coverage of UNPFII Session and 10th Anniversary of UNDRIP through social media Access to the Indigenous Media Zone Indigenous media representatives, journalists and bloggers as well as non-indigenous media, including UN correspondents, are invited to cover the press conferences and interviews. The zone will not be open for regular participants at the UNPFII Session.
